Legal work on the errors in rules that keep repeating in women’s lives.

Legal Rapid Response is the legal work of Womafreesm on systemic errors. When the cases of many women show the same error in a rule, a procedure or a law, Womafreesm lawyers prepare petitions and legal documents so that the rule itself changes.
Working now: our lawyers are already drafting petitions and legal documents.

A woman who runs into a rule that fails her is usually told it is her bad luck: wrong timing, wrong documents, wrong words. Then the next woman runs into the same rule, and the next one after her.
One case is a story. The same case again and again is a rule at work. Help for each woman matters, and organizations in her country give it. While the rule stays as it is, it keeps producing new cases.

Cases reach Womafreesm from women and organizations in different countries through the Womafreesm World Women’s Assembly. Each case is recorded with consent and kept private.
Anonymized records are compared. When the same failure shows up again and again, in one rule, one procedure or one gap in the law, it is named and described as a systemic error.
Womafreesm lawyers turn the error into a petition, a legal document or an official appeal, in the country where the rule fails women and in the language of its institutions.
The petition or document goes to the body that can change the rule, such as a government, a parliament or a ministry, together with the evidence and the cases behind it.

Free access to menstrual products
Marina Sukhomlinova’s petition to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine asks for free access to menstrual hygiene products as a mandatory sanitary standard in public institutions. Womafreesm raises the same question in other countries.
Signatures are being collected until 12 November 2026, and the petition needs 25,000 of them to be considered by the government.

Legal Rapid Response is not a law firm, not a legal practice, not a rescue service and not an emergency line.
Womafreesm does not represent individual women in court and does not give personal legal advice. For help with her own situation, a woman turns to the Womafreesm Women’s Protection Pathway, which shows legal aid services in her country.
The choice of errors to work on, the legal position and the conclusions stay independent of funding. The rule applies equally to individuals, companies, foundations and public bodies, whatever the amount they give.

Bring your legal expertise to petitions and documents on systemic errors in your country. Tell us about your experience, and the team agrees your role, country and terms with you.
Law firms, bar associations, human rights groups and expert teams can join the legal work on systemic errors as partners. A partnership starts with a memorandum on its terms.
Experts and lawyers in the Assembly’s expert network help review incoming cases, compare them across countries and see where a problem found in one country repeats elsewhere.
Donations to Womafreesm fund six areas of work, and Legal Rapid Response is among them. To fund this area of work specifically, choose major support: it is arranged by agreement.
No. Legal Rapid Response works with errors in rules that repeat for many women, and its result is a petition or a legal document that changes the rule, not a court case for one person. For help with your own situation, use the Womafreesm Women’s Protection Pathway: it shows help services in your country, legal aid included.
