Beyond Comparison
An international cultural project of Womafreesm on a woman’s right to age with dignity
A woman’s face holds a story that cannot be replaced, repeated or rewritten.
The Beyond Comparison book is in preparation.
Tell your story
Every line holds the years of love, motherhood, creativity, work, waiting, loss, moves, laughter, responsibility and the decisions after which a woman became someone else. Time passes through her life and leaves its marks, turning a face into a living biography.
Beyond Comparison creates a new culture of seeing a woman’s age. A culture in which growing older means gathering depth, freedom, influence and inner strength, and lines become a map of a life and a mark of the quality of what was lived.
A woman’s beauty exists outside competition. Her age is the continuation of her story, and her face is the evidence of a life truly lived.
What Beyond Comparison is

Beyond Comparison is an international cultural, documentary and research project of Womafreesm: candid stories from women about the events that left a mark on their face.
A woman chooses one line on her face and tells what put it there: a child, a book, a loss, a war, a move to another country, laughter. From these stories, an international archive of women’s own accounts of age, work, love, loss and influence is being assembled for a book, exhibitions and a documentary series.
Why this project exists

For generations a woman’s worth was tied to her nearness to youth. The older she became, the less room society left for her visibility, her desirability, her professional growth and her influence.
A man’s age turned into confirmation of experience and authority. A woman’s age was too often read as the gradual disappearance of her public value.
That cultural logic taught millions of women to look at themselves through an outside observer’s eyes, to notice the signs of time before their own depth, and to see growing older as a process of loss.
Beyond Comparison changes the starting point.
A woman grows older and becomes more fully herself. She gathers knowledge, comes through trials, creates, loves, loses, begins again, makes hard decisions and gradually finds her own form. Her face keeps that life and makes it visible.
My line appeared like this

At the center of the project is one sentence:
My line appeared like this.
We invite actresses, singers, writers, directors, artists, scientists, entrepreneurs, athletes, politicians, public leaders and women all over the world to choose one line on their face and tell the story of how it came to be.
One line may have been born in the years of writing a first book. Another appeared after the birth of a child. A third holds the memory of a person who had to be let go. A fourth became the mark of war, emigration or the fight for the right to keep one’s own name. A fifth grew out of the laughter that carried a woman through the hardest years.
Through one line a whole human biography opens.
A conversation about appearance becomes a conversation about a life. A woman speaks about herself through the experience that formed her character, her view of the world and her inner strength. What used to be read as grounds for correction becomes the entrance to the story of a life.
Time as a woman’s co-author

Time deepens a gaze, because it has seen more. It gives weight to a voice, because behind every word now stand consequences already lived. It changes a face, because life passed through it, leaving the memory of closeness, fear, hope, freedom and choice.
Lines tell of the time when a woman loved, created, defended, forgave, endured and began again. They hold the moments when she lost familiar ground, found new strength and came back to herself.
Beyond Comparison offers a way to see a woman’s aging as the unfolding of a person. Every stage lived adds depth, scale and the capacity to understand the world.
Her face becomes the evidence of a path that belongs to her alone.

The freedom to choose your own face
Aging with dignity begins with a woman’s right to define her own relationship with her appearance.
One woman chooses natural change. Another turns to cosmetology. A third treats makeup as an art. A fourth changes her appearance through surgery. A fifth keeps every line time has made.
Every choice deserves respect when it comes from a woman’s own freedom.
The project returns to her the authorship of her own body and the right to decide how she wants to look, what she wants to keep, what she wants to change and what meaning she gives to her age.
A woman deserves love, recognition, professional growth, sexuality and public visibility throughout her whole life.
Where the stories go: the archive, the book, the series

A global archive of women’s stories
Participants’ stories are being gathered into an international digital archive of Womafreesm. It will bring together the faces and voices of women from different countries, cultures, professions and generations.
The archive is meant as a collective biography of women’s time. It will show how different women’s lives are, and how universal their wish to grow older with dignity, keeping the right to be seen and heard.
A story can be sent as text, a photograph, a video or an audio recording.

The book
The book Beyond Comparison: Candid Stories of Women Who Changed the World and Themselves is in preparation.
It is planned as an international book about women whose faces kept the marks of their decisions, love, losses, creative work, responsibility and inner change.
Each chapter will begin with one line on a face and open a whole human life. A woman’s portrait will meet her own account and her reflection on how what she lived through changed her and the world around her.
The book is meant as a cultural document of an era in which women begin to speak about age in their own voice and give maturity back its true meaning.

The documentary series
A documentary series based on the stories of the project is planned.
Each episode will be devoted to one woman, one period of her life and one line on her face that holds the memory of a decisive event.
The viewer will see a woman beyond her public image: an actress after the role that changed her life, a writer in the years of her major book, a singer after the loss of her voice, a politician after a decision that touched thousands of lives, a mother after her children grew up, a leader after a historic victory or a heavy defeat.
The series will show a woman’s age as a space of growth, depth and accumulated influence.
The research layer and the cultural norm
Beyond Comparison develops as a cultural and research project able to change the rules by which women are shown in media, advertising, cinema, publishing and public life.
With the separate written consent of participants, anonymized material can become the basis for analyzing how women in different countries live through age, the pressure of the beauty industry, career ageism, a changing relationship with the body and the fear of losing public visibility.
This research layer makes it possible to study female ageism, the cultural standards of women’s youth, the representation of mature women, and the effect of age stereotypes on careers, self-perception and public participation.
On the basis of what is collected, Womafreesm plans an international report on aging with dignity and recommendations for media, brands, the film industry, publishers, employers and public institutions.
A personal story becomes collective knowledge. Collective knowledge forms a new cultural norm. A new norm returns to a woman the right to be present in the world in the fullness of the life she has lived.
Your name, your face, how public you want to be

Each participant decides how public her story is. A story can be published with a full name, with a first name only, or in anonymized form.
The public use of a name, a photograph, a video and a personal account happens after separate written consent, given for a specific piece of material and a specific channel. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and the material is then removed from the channels that Womafreesm controls.
Participation in Womafreesm is private by default. Privacy and respect for the boundaries a participant sets are part of the Code of Womafreesm.

How to tell your story
Choose one line on your face and recall the event it holds for you. Tell what was happening in your life, what decision you made, what you lost, what you gained, and what kind of woman you became after that experience.
You can send text, a photograph, a video or an audio recording. Your story can become part of the international archive, the book, an exhibition or the documentary series of Womafreesm. Public use of your story happens with your separate written consent.
Taking part is free and open from age 18. You get a confirmation as soon as you send your story, and the Beyond Comparison team reads every story.

FAQ
1. What is Beyond Comparison?
Beyond Comparison is an international cultural, documentary and research project of Womafreesm, an international nonprofit organization registered in Florida, United States, with 501(c)(3) public charity status. A woman chooses one line on her face and tells the story of the event behind it, and her account becomes part of an international digital archive of women’s own words about age, work, love, loss and authority. The material is being collected for a book, exhibitions and a documentary series, and, with separate written consent, for an anonymized research layer on female ageism and the representation of mature women. The research direction of Womafreesm measures a related subject in the study “Age-Gender Misclassification of Women Aged 45-64 in AI, Marketing and Hiring: An International Comparative Audit”; its first public report is planned for December 2026.
2. What problem does Beyond Comparison address?
The project works with female ageism, the cultural pressure of youth and the gradual shrinking of a woman’s public visibility as she grows older. These attitudes affect careers, self-perception, the representation of women in media, the relationship with the body and the right to keep influence in maturity. Beyond Comparison builds a new system of meaning in which a woman’s age becomes the evidence of a life lived and of human value accumulated.
3. Why is a line on the face the central image of the project?
A line joins an outward change to an inner story. Behind one line may stand the birth of a child, the writing of a book, the loss of someone close, emigration, love, war, years of responsibility, a hard decision, or the laughter that stayed with a woman all her life. The project moves attention from judging appearance to the content of what was lived. A line becomes the entrance to a woman’s biography.
4. Who can tell their story?
Participation is open to women aged 18 and over, of any profession, culture, country and public role. Actresses, singers, writers, artists, scientists, politicians, entrepreneurs, athletes, public leaders and women whose names are not yet known to a wide audience can all take part. The value of a story is set by its truthfulness, its depth and its ability to reveal an important human meaning.
5. How do I tell my story?
Fill in the form on this page. Pick one line on your face, think of the event it holds for you, and tell what was happening in your life, what choice you made, what changed inside you and what kind of woman you became after that experience. You can add photos, video or audio.
6. What is the book of the project called?
The book of the project is called Beyond Comparison: Candid Stories of Women Who Changed the World and Themselves, and it is in preparation. It will bring together portraits and personal accounts of women about the events that changed their lives, their view of the world and their relationship with themselves.
7. Can I keep my privacy?
Every participant decides how public her story is: with her full name, with her first name only, or anonymized. Her name, photograph, video and personal account are used publicly only after her separate written consent. Privacy and respect for a participant’s boundaries are part of the principles of Womafreesm.
8. Does the project support one particular approach to appearance?
The project supports a woman’s freedom to define her own relationship with her appearance. Natural aging, cosmetology, makeup, plastic surgery and other decisions belong to the woman herself. The central principle is her own authorship and her freedom from the pressure to match someone else’s expectations.
